No Matter

No Matter

what we do

or how much we boo hoo

weep

whine

complain

cry

time will continue

to fly by

at the speed of light

illuminating dark places

where time doesn’t

exist

like the eyes of a homeless poet

like the hands of a grandmothers grasp

the confines of my mothers laugh

so like love

i must move

continue to continue

because in continuance

we find

continuing time

ticking

no matter how sickly

we feel

we feel our wounds

wont heal

they wont

if you continue to sit

still

facing fears

is no pic

nic

nit

pick and miss

the point

of what i am trying

to convey at times

time moves slower

than a caterpiller through syrup

on syrup

hurricanes

stir up

seconds

off-spinning

tornadoes of minutes

tearing down homes built

by the hour

how solid is your foundation

will time

tear you down ?

  1. This is my favorite, such profound statements using mininimal words. It leaves the reader reflecting on their own life and its issues and the realness of time. I love the end when you ask, “will time tear you down?”.. I will ponder this question for a while,, very touching poem…I love this one!
