Forgiven

If we don’t forgive we will not be forgiven, biblically speaking that is. Practically speaking, it’s in the ability do we find ability. What I mean is that when we hold grudges and bitterness toward someone, no matter the infraction, it invalidates the reality of forgiveness. Therefore we feel like because grudges are possible then The Father holds grudges against us. Couldn’t it also be said then that because of the times we have forgave that it is possible to be forgiven. It’s like they say “we remember everyone else’s worst actions while only remembering our best intentions”. So in the act of forgiving others comes the belief that forgiveness is real and possible. So maybe you start small on a daily basis. Forgive that person that cut you off in traffic by waving instead of cursing them out. Forgive someone who made that rude comment to you by smiling and letting it go. Then work your way up. Think of someone who is long gone from your life and work on forgiving them. You’re not punishing them by withholding it. Forgive so you can be free of the bondage of bitterness that is sucking the life from your tomorrows before they come upon you. In this you will find the freedom to accept forgiveness from The Father and most importantly yourself. You weren’t created to walk through life with clenched fists full of memories of hatred and anger. Anger manifests itself in many ways. It depends on the language of your soul.  You might not be a screamer. Maybe you’re a crier,  or you process anger through sadness.  Maybe indifference is how your aggression disguised as passivity comes out. You know you and to yourself only you hold the responsibility to be true. You weren’t meant to have the arteries in your heart clogged with damning disdain. In this you will learn how to both offer and accept your own forgiveness for yourself. Let it go and let them be. What comes flooding in through this cleared up channel of your heart is a love like you’ve never known and don’t really have the capacity to imagine. Watch The Father open up the windows of heaven and pour out a blessing you won’t have room enough to receive. His love created specifically to hit every moving target of your heart. Your heaven on earth.
